In the community you may know me from my many years of participating within the community, including coaching baseball with the Thornapple Valley Little League, or perhaps through my role on the board of the Visiting Nurses Association of Western Michigan. You may also know me from my extensive career at Steelcase, spent almost entirely as a member of the Executive Management Team. One opportunity I relished was to successfully guide the design and construction of the Corporate Headquarters building in Kentwood; along with the Corporate Development Center (the Pyramid), Medical Center, Aviation facility, Protection Services, and various offices and showrooms throughout North America.
I am proud of the numerous national awards that were earned relating to overall design, mechanical systems, and landscaping of these projects – my most rewarding was the National Award of “Best Restoration” recognized for the restoration of the Frank Lloyd Wright, Meyer May house in Grand Rapids, for which I was responsible for.
